Yes even though you have a filter on your fish tank you still need to clean it. Fish waste will build up in the aquarium gravel, algae will grow on the fish tank glass and a water change will need to be done regularly.

Having an aquarium does involve maintenance but if done right should only take you lets say 20 minutes a week. When people overcrowd their fish tank and overfeed their fish, is when you will start taking more time to clean your aquarium.
